At National Mattress, we believe the only way to truly know if a mattress is right for you is to sleep on it — not for a few minutes in a showroom, but through every season in your own home. That is why every mattress comes with our 365-Night Sleep Trial: a full year to decide, with a full refund if it is not the right fit. No restocking fees. No hoops.
365-Night Sleep Trial
- A Full Year to Decide: Your 365-night trial begins the day your mattress is delivered or picked up. Sleep on it for a minimum of 21 nights to let your body adjust, then take the rest of the year to decide. If it is not right, request a return anytime through night 365.
- Full Refund. Every. Single. Penny: If you are not satisfied after the 21-night adjustment period, we will refund your full purchase price to your original payment method within 3 business days of pickup. No restocking fees. No processing charges. No deductions. Ever.
- Free Pickup at Your Door: You do not have to squeeze it back in the box. When you request a return, we will schedule a free pickup right at your door at a time that works for you. Return the mattress with its original packaging with labels and manufacturer tags attached — no re-boxing required.
- Condition Requirements: Returned mattresses must be in donatable condition: clean, with no stains, rips, burns, mold, bodily fluids, or excessive wear. Manufacturer tags and labels must remain attached (we verify at pickup). We strongly recommend using a mattress protector from day one to keep your mattress in returnable condition.
- Household Limit: We allow up to 2 mattress returns per household (returns and exchanges combined). This helps us keep this generous policy sustainable so every customer can benefit from it.
- Where Returned Mattresses Go: Every returned mattress in donatable condition is given to local charities and shelters. Your purchase helps someone in need get a better night’s sleep, even if the mattress was not the right fit for you.
Exchanges — Try a Different Mattress Anytime

Our non-commissioned sleep experts will help you find a better match from our entire lineup of 200+ mattresses across 14+ brands — Sealy, Serta, Beautyrest, Tempur-Pedic, Stearns & Foster, and more. No other retailer offers this kind of flexibility.
- Exchange Anytime During Your Trial: You can request an exchange at any point during your 365-night trial — there is no waiting period for exchanges. If you already know the mattress is not right, there is no reason to wait.
- Your Trial Continues: After an exchange, your original 365-night trial continues from your initial purchase date. The clock does not restart, but your full refund option remains available through night 365 — even after an exchange.
- No Exchange Fees: We do not charge exchange fees. If you choose a more expensive mattress, you pay only the price difference. If you choose a less expensive mattress, we refund the difference to your original payment method.
- Exchange Across Any Brand or Size: Unlike other retailers, you are not limited to same-brand or same-size exchanges. Switch from a Sealy queen to a Beautyrest king, or from a firm hybrid to a plush memory foam — whatever your sleep needs require.
- Seamless Swap: For customers within our delivery zone, your new mattress is delivered and the exchanged mattress is picked up at the same time — no gap in your sleep. For customers outside the local delivery zone, please contact us to arrange logistics.
- Condition Requirements: Exchanged mattresses must meet the same donatable condition standards as returns: clean, no stains, rips, burns, mold, bodily fluids, or excessive wear, with original packaging and manufacturer tags and labels attached.
Unopened Products
Changed your mind before opening? All unopened merchandise can be returned within 365 days of pickup or delivery for a full refund. The product must be in its original, sealed manufacturer packaging. Contact us to arrange a return or bring it back to our store — no questions asked.
Sleep Accessories
Pillows, mattress protectors, sheets, and other sleep accessories can be returned within 60 days for a full refund. Items must be in donatable condition, unwashed, and returned with their original packaging.
Damaged Products
If you notice any damage within 24 hours of receiving your product, please email us immediately at support@nationalmattress.ca. We will address the issue and ensure a quick resolution.
Manufacturer Warranty
All mattresses come with the original manufacturer’s warranty. Any issues related to defects can be addressed through the warranty, and we are here to assist you with any warranty concerns. The 365-Night Sleep Trial is separate from and in addition to the manufacturer warranty.
Why 365 Nights?
A mattress can feel different as seasons change. What keeps you warm and cozy in a Canadian winter might sleep too warm in July. 365 nights gives you a full year to experience your mattress through spring, summer, fall, and winter — so you can be completely confident in your decision. Most customers know well before 365 nights whether they love their mattress. But if you need the full year, it is yours.
What Is Not Covered
- Custom sizes and special order mattresses
- Closeout and clearance items (all sales final)
- Mattresses not in donatable condition (stained, damaged, missing tags)
- Returns beyond the 2 per household limit
